Belgium's SKITSOY Win 'City Of Bilbao' Contest In 'Metal' Category
June 9, 2006SKITSOY, the Belgian band featuring ex-CHANNEL ZERO frontman frontman Franky De Smet-Van Damme, won the City of Bilbao pop-rock contest in the "Metal" category Wednesday (June 7) in Bilbao, Spain after performing live in a front of a jury comprised of music-related professionals and journalists. Out of 3,000 entries from all over the world, SKITSOY were chosen to compete against two Spanish bands (NANCY HOLE and NUNNERY),and won convincingly in the finals. The band have since returned to Belgium with a check for 6,000 euros and a confirmed Spanish club tour later this year. Last year another Belgian band (ABSYNTH MINDED) won the contest in the "Pop" category.
